Garmin Health Ecosystem
Designing a global digital health experience for consumers and enterprise partners alike.
Role: Lead Web Product Designer Company: Garmin Scope: Global
Designing for Two Audiences at Once
Health technology is one of the most scrutinized spaces in digital design. Garmin's health ecosystem spans consumer wellness, clinical research, enterprise partnerships, and annual thought leadership events -- all living under a unified digital presence on garmin.com. I own the design and ongoing stewardship of this ecosystem, applying global design system components to serve two distinct audiences with very different needs, in a space where clarity, credibility, and accessibility are non-negotiable.
The Problem
Designing for health is uniquely complex. The same digital ecosystem needs to speak to a consumer checking their Body Battery score and a clinical researcher evaluating Garmin's health API. The visual language, information architecture, and content hierarchy have to serve both audiences without alienating either. Add global localization requirements, annual recurring updates, and ADA compliance across every page, and the design challenge becomes significant.
My Role
Lead Web Product Designer. I have end-to-end design ownership across the Garmin Health digital web ecosystem. My responsibilities include information architecture, component selection and application, accessibility compliance, annual content updates, and cross-functional collaboration with global stakeholders, content teams, and engineering.

The Garmin Health ecosystem spans five interconnected experiences:
garmin.com/health Primary landing page - dual-audience entry point for consumers and enterprise partners.
garmin.com/health/solutions/health-care B2B healthcare solutions for clinical and enterprise partners.
garmin.com/garmin-technology/health-science Health science research and sensor technology editorial.
garmin.com/garmin-health-summit Annual thought leadership event, updated each year.
garmin.com/garmin-health-award Annual awards program recognizing digital health innovation.

The Approach
The dual-audience challenge shaped every design decision. Rather than creating separate experiences for consumers and enterprise partners, the goal was a unified visual language that earns trust from both. Global DS components provided the structural foundation, while content hierarchy and IA decisions did the heavy lifting of audience segmentation.
The annual recurring pages - the Summit and Awards - required a different kind of design thinking. Rather than treating each year as a new project, I established a repeatable template structure that allows content to refresh while design integrity and component structure remain stable. This is design stewardship as much as design execution.
Accessibility and global localization were non-negotiable requirements. Every page is designed to WCAG 2.1 AA standards and built to support Garmin's global localization pipeline.

The Outcome
The Garmin Health ecosystem demonstrates what design systems make possible at a vertical level. By applying global components thoughtfully to a complex, dual-audience content challenge, the result is a cohesive digital health presence that serves Garmin's growing ambitions in health technology -- credible to enterprise partners, accessible to consumers, and consistent across every market it reaches.
